This project will improve existing drainage conditions along US route 42, between Hanover Dr and Opportunity Pl.
 

US Route 42, between Hanover Dr and Axis Christian Church, frequently experiences drainage issues with the western roadside ditch lying wet during heavy rain events. The City has previously conducted ditching projects along this corridor. However, this limited solution typically only resolves the issue for a few years. This project will resolve drainage concerns along this corridor by providing curb and gutter, a closed storm sewer system, and additional roadway culvert crossings.

Current Status: Utility relocations by private utility companies have started in advance of this project and will be ongoing through the spring. Staff are currently preparing the final plans and the bid documents for the project. This project is slated to occur at some point in 2026.
