SNIDER ROAD RAILROAD CROSSING SURFACE UPGRADE
This Summer, the Indiana and Ohio Railway is scheduled to perform Phase 1 of surface treatment improvements at the Snider Road railroad crossing near Hi Tek Court. This project will replace the existing deteriorated crossing with a new concrete surface crossing, similar to what was recently installed on Western Row Road in 2025. While the exact date of the project has not yet been determined by the I&O Railway, it is anticipated that the railroad improvements will take place during the summer season for approximately two weeks and will require a full closure of Snider Road near Hi Tek Court. The detour will redirect traffic flow utilizing Western Row Road and US 42. Once the City completes the Snider Road Widening Project, I&O Railway will return to complete Phase 2 of the railroad improvements in this area, anticipated to take place in 2027.
Current Status: Phase 1 of surface treatment improvements at the Snider Road railroad crossing will begin sometime in the summer of 2026.
