MASON-MONTGOMERY & TYLERSVILLE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

In 2021 TEC Engineering, Inc. completed an intersection study at Mason Montgomery Road and Tylersville Road to identify and evaluate potential measures to improve capacity. The study analyzed vehicle counts and movements throughout the day and determined the service classification based on delay time. The study found that the current intersection is beginning to fail during peak hours and improvements are needed to facilitate current and future traffic demand. TEC evaluated several design options to increase the capacity at the intersection and recommended widening the roadway to provide northbound and southbound dual left turn lanes and eastbound and westbound right turn lanes.
